My mother has to move to a nursing home (verpleeghuis). Because my mother was not in her own house anymore I had the opportunity to look more closely at her (religious) collectibles. In a later stage I took photo's of the changing spaces getting more and more empty; I had the focus at the traces and remnants at the walls and on the floor.
Moving Out/Fading Away is a serie about memories of things that will disappear forever. About closing a period in time. By making pictures of the house memories can still be exist in another way.
The series'A PERFECT WORLD' is taken in the business district Zuidas Amsterdam.
I took photos of the tarpaulin at the edge of the big building site.
The tarpaulin shows the artist impressions of the newly built apartments.
These photos are images of ‘real’ people who are ‘living’ in a computer 3D impression.
‘Young, ambitious, and continuously looking for positive incentives. Routines are a bore and no day is the same. That’s why you choose to here, a unique hotspot. With a rooftop garden, meeting areas, and foyers that function as an extension of your living room. This is where life really begins.’
These texts are from real estate websites who gives information about the new construction projects in the Zuidas Amsterdam.
In this photo series ‘A Perfect World’ I am interested in this created world where everything seems to be perfect. What is a dream and what is a reality?
